My Story

Dr. Nadir Meghji is a Certified Plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon based in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. He acquired his medical degree (MD) at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). In 2023, he graduated with a Master's degree in Plastic Surgery (MS) in Alexandria University (AU) Faculty of Medicine with a thesis based on Breast surgery. On top of that, he did his Residency training in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic surgery at Alexandria Main University Hospital (AMUH), Alexandria, Egypt. Since he also has passion with public health, he persued a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He is linked with various local and international professional organisations and institutions. Currently, he is an International Member Candidate of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a clinical Fellow in Breast and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He also serves as honorary lecturer of Plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). He is the founder and the president of Reconstructive Surgery Tanzania(RecoTz), a local NGO operating in Tanzania focusing on creating awareness, provide finacial support, and perform reconstructive surgery services to the community. Furthermore, Dr. Meghji serves as the current Vice President of the Tanzania Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeons (TASPRAS). Click here to learn more about Dr. Meghji.

WHERE I PRACTICE

With a view to always offering his patients the best service, Dr. Nadir Meghji runs his clinics and performs surgeries in several places. In addition to receiving his patients at his clinic, Macmeghji Plastic Surgery, he offers services at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Shifaa Pan African Hospitals Ltd, Ampola Tasakhtaa Hospital located on the beautiful island of Zanzibar, and other private hospitals.

Dr. Meghji’s areas of interest include Breast Reconstruction and Cosmetic Surgeries, Body contouring, and Hand Surgery. He also does Facial reconstruction and Cosmetic surgeries. He also specializes in Complex Wound Surgery, skin cancer surgery, and Abdominal and Chest Wall Reconstruction.

GIVING BACK

Although he is a plastic surgeon in Dar es salaam, Dr. Meghji is passionate about helping Tanzania’s most vulnerable. He travels in various areas of the country linked with not-for-profit organizations helping by providing free facial and hand reconstructive surgeries to children and adults. As a founder and chairman of Reconstructive surgery Tanzania (RecoTz), he creates awareness, fundraise, and provide various reconstructive surgeries to those in need.
